Kevin Grigsby is excited to be performing at Alabama Piano Gallery. He holds a Master of Science in Management from Troy University, a Master of Music from The University of Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Music from Birmingham-Southern College. His primary piano teachers include Nancy Wingard, William DeVan, Jane Magrath, and E.L. Lancaster. Kevin won numerous awards and competitions as a student and has been active in the Birmingham area art music scene since the mid-1990’s. You may have heard him play in any number of music theater shows, ballet pit orchestras, or as an orchestral pianist with the Alabama Symphony.
Kevin and his wife, Angela, have been married for 18 years. Kevin is in the Commercial Marketing department at Alabama Power Company, where he has worked for 11 years. He also plays piano each Sunday at First Baptist Church Trussville. Angela works at AT&T and is an active volunteer in the community and for church events. They have two children, Stephen 10, and Katherine 9. Stephen studies piano with Nancy Wingard, (just like his dad!). Stephen earned double superior ratings at the recent solo festival, and also wrestles—he placed 2nd in the state tournament in February! Katherine studies piano with Dr. Margery Whatley. She also received double superior ratings at the solo festival, and she won the Miss Sweetheart pageant in Trussville recently! When not practicing piano, the family enjoys traveling, playing outside, and watching Idiotest or Looney Tunes together.
